From M5
From M5 take A419 towards Stroud.
Straight ahead at two roundabouts (Shell & Bonds Mill) to third roundabout.
Take third exit from roundabout signed Stroud (A419) to Stroud
At next roundabout take first exit towards Stroud passing Sainsbury’s on right.
At next roundabout take second exit sign posted Bath. (Turn right effectively.)
After garage on right at traffic lights take left filter (Minor road)
At top of hill with B&Q on the right go straight ahead at traffic lights crossing A46 up a minor road.
At top of hill with the Prince Albert pub on left turn right up narrow road.
Follow road up hill across Rodborough Common to the end (about 1½ miles)
At junction turn right (Bear of Rodborough Hotel about ¼ mile on right)
Pass the hotel and about 300 yards on left enter Bownham Park marked by white posts and a ‘school sign’.
Enter Bownham Park.
From M4
Leave at Junction 15 and follow A419 towards Cirencester. Turn off the A419 when signposted Stroud. Follow Stroud signs towards Cirencester and take the Stroud turn off.
After a couple of miles, at the approach to Cirencester, at first roundabout take 2nd left exit following “Through Route” signs to Stroud. (first exit is a small one to Tescos)
Ahead at next roundabout. At next roundabout take first left at hospital again following Stroud signs.
At next roundabout take 2nd exit sign posted Stroud A 419 and Royal Agricultural College. You will pass the college after about half a mile on left.
Continue ahead along A419 for about 7 miles finally passing an airfield on left. As the road starts to go down a hill there is a road on the left sign posted “Minchinhampton”. Take this road.
Follow road for about 4 miles finally crossing a very large open area (Minchinhampton Common).
As the road starts to go downhill you will see some white posts on the right and a school sign. This is the entrance to Bownham Park. (You will have missed it if you get to the Bear of Rodborough Hotel where you will have to turn round and go back up the hill about ¼ mile before turning left into the park.

From Bath via the A46
Take the A46 to Nailsworth
At Nailsworth you will descend a hill to a cross roads and mini-roundabout. Just past a zebra crossing there is a mini-roundabout. Turn right passing the Morrisons supermarket on the right. Continue up the twisty hill and across Minchinhampton common to a staggered cross roads. Turn left.
As the road starts to go downhill you will see some white posts on the right. This is the entrance to Bownham Park. (You will have missed it if you get to the Bear of Rodborough Hotel where you will have to turn round and go back up the hill about ¼ mile before turning left into the park.

From Cheltenham
Take the A46 to Stroud. When you get near to Stroud go straight ahead at first roundabout, right at the next roundabout going under a footbridge after 50 yards and passing the bus station on the left. Continue to a double mini-roundabout (150 yds) then a single roundabout (20 yds) and continue along the A46 (effectively straight ahead). The road will start to climb (about 100 yards) from roundabout. You will see a pub on the left hand side called the Clothiers Arms. Take the left hand road with the pub on your right and follow the road going uphill (very steep) to the common.
Follow road across Rodborough Common to the end (about 1½ miles)
At junction turn right (Bear of Rodborough Hotel about ¼ mile on right)
Pass the hotel and about 300 yards on left enter Bownham Park marked by white posts.
